2007 Marks Record Growth for ZoomInfo with Increased Profitability, Larger Customer Base and Strong Website Traffic
Waltham, Mass. (PRWEB) February 13, 2008 -- ZoomInfo (http://www.zoominfo.com)?, an online business information search engine, announced today that it has posted record sales and profits for 2007. ZoomInfo's 2007 sales exceeded $16 million, representing a 32% increase over 2006. Also in 2007, ZoomInfo.com's traffic spiked 70% to 5 million unique visitors conducting 14 million searches each month. According to Nielson/NetRatings (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/business/news/e3i74ed6b72b165691207cc3714292ee750), in April ZoomInfo was the fastest growing network in the country with 276% annual growth.
As part of ZoomInfo's planned growth, the company focused on diversifying its revenue base across the recruiting, sales intelligence, and online business advertising markets. ZoomInfo launched two sales and marketing intelligence offerings, PowerSell (http://www.zoominfo.com/About/news/press-release-article.aspx?articleID=09_17_07) for enterprise customers and ZoomExec (http://www.zoominfo.com/About/news/press-release-article.aspx?articleID=04_02_07) for individual sales people, and optimized its advertising monetization with the re-launch of ZoomInfo.com (http://www.zoominfo.com/About/news/press-release-article.aspx?articleID=04_02_07_b). As a result, ZoomInfo's advertising sales grew 283% and the company increased its customer base to 2,500 companies, including 30 percent of the Fortune 100, 20 percent of the Fortune 500 and the top 20 executive recruiting firms.
"As we continue diversifying our offerings and our revenue, we realized the advantages of creating distinct business units that can focus on the specific needs of our growing customer base," said Bryan Burdick, president of ZoomInfo. "We recently created four business units - recruiting, sales intelligence, search and bizographic ad targeting - each with dedicated product, marketing and development teams. Additionally, we've hired 30+ new employees in the last four months and are in the process of building a presence in California to help support the growth we expect in 2008."
In 2007, ZoomInfo also continued to expand its business information index. The company now updates its information every (http://www.zoominfo.com/About/news/press-release-article.aspx?articleID=05_10_07) night and crawls 1 billion pages every 3 months. As a result, ZoomInfo has broadened its coverage to include more than 40 million professionals and 3.7 million companies.
"ZoomInfo's disruptive technology allows for unprecedented freshness and free distribution of our business information," said Jonathan Stern, CEO, chief scientist and founder of ZoomInfo. "I believe we've assembled all the pieces to truly take off in 2008 - a strong team of people, innovative technology, and a product offering suite that solves real challenges for our customers. 2008 is going to be an incredible, ground-breaking year for ZoomInfo."
During the year, ZoomInfo signed a strategic partnership with Xing designed to integrate ZoomInfo's business information into Xing's business networking platform. The company also announced a dedicated developer zone (http://www.zoominfo.com/About/news/press-release-article.aspx?articleID=09_06_07) to provide several tools for developers to create applications that leverage ZoomInfo's semantic search capabilities and people and company content.
