Oneupweb Corporate Podcast Depicts the Drama of a Website Failing To Perform
Traverse City, MI (Vocus) December 12, 2007 -- Bwana Bob's customers are frustrated and angry. His e-commerce site has serious usability problems. And somewhere there's a loose tarantula.
Sounds like another fictitious episode of Oneupweb's award-winning podcast series, One for the Money.
"If Bwana Bob were real, he would be in some serious trouble," says Lisa Wehr, CEO and Founder of Oneupweb. "Unfortunately, this story is all too true for many real e-commerce sites out there. These websites aren't performing properly, and losing customers because of it."
Wehr uses Bwana Bob as an example of what can happen when a website fails to perform, and what marketers can do to ensure this doesn't happen to them.
Appropriately titled Useless Pain, this is the sixth episode in the One for the Money Series. The series highlights some of the work of PodGarden?, a division of Oneupweb dedicated to the production, hosting and tracking of corporate podcasts. It was awarded a 2007 Silver Davey for exceptional execution and outstanding creativity. Using Oneupweb's own staff as its amateur acting company and a 40's style radio drama format, the series tries to offer a different, lighter approach to some all-too-serious online marketing issues.
"Bwana Bob's issues are real problems that we frequently hear," notes Wehr. "By performing a usability checkup on websites that are experiencing these problems, we can identify what's working and what's not. And then we can fix it."
At the end of the latest episode, Wehr and Oneupweb Business Development Director Tim Kauffold discuss the lessons learned and direct listeners to other free resources that will help them find out more about conducting a usability analysis.
