World's Largest Website and Business Directory Opens

Athens, GA (PRWeb) March 29, 2007 -- The CityEverything project started as a free classified listing service with a "twist." Featured in many write-ups and news services they took a different approach. Rather than having one website with "sub-domains" the founders decided to make a much larger investment and open over 250 independent websites, one for each major city and state in the US.

It quickly dawned on them however that they had actually created something else. When they started getting many requests from website owners to list their websites, they realized they had also inadvertently created a massive exposure tool that could be put to use by every website and business owner. After much thought and planning they decided to offer much more than just a "typical" directory.

Today's launch now includes both a website directory and a local business directory that is structured much like a phone book yellow page section. Both of these listings also allow business owners to include a full write up on their business and not just a short sentence. Mike English one of the cofounders said, "We wanted to take the best of all the SEO and advertising tools out there and combine them into one service that was very affordable. We decided to offer the power of a web directory, a 'local yellow page style' business listing, a press release, a business write-up, back-links, and offer them all as one package. Now website owners can stop 'shopping around' in multiple places and accomplish a great deal all in one spot."

The CityEverything Grand Opening is also marked by what they are calling "an insane pricing special". While people listing a website or business normally would pay $1.95 per city, they are kicking off the site launch by offering a listing on every website they own for only $4.95 a month. While this opening special is very limited they feel it is the best way to "jump start" the project. English said, "We wanted to offer a grand opening special that would be simply 'stupid' to turn down and not just attractive. I think we have accomplished this with over 250 listings and links all for around five bucks a month. I actually feel kind of bad for those that miss it."
